Hello, my name is Emily! I'm a stay-at-home mom by day, sewing banshee by night! It's addictive and I've truly been pleasantly pulled into the amazing world of sewing! Please let me share my love of custom crafting with you and your family for any occasion!
About New Mercies... The idea for the name came from a verse I love and have newly cherished in the Old Testament:
"Because of the LORD'S great love, we are not consumed, for His mercies never fail. They are new every morning; great is thy faithfulness" - Lamentations 3:22-23
In May of 2010, I was encouraged by a nurse who, when told I was taking life one day at a time with God's strength alone at times, said, "His mercies are new every morning, so count on them."
Almost two months later, I'd borrowed my mother-in-law's sewing machine, been taught basic stitching by my longtime friend and I dove into this new passion. God did get me, my husband and my family through some stuff I thought would topple us - His mercies truly were abundant and they were new each and every single day just as my nurse, the old song and the scripture promises!
My sewing life and love is the embodiment of my gratefulness for God's will and daily provision. It sure isn't perfect - yet! :-) I try new things, stumble alot, rip out a whole lot, go a little fabric crazy at JoAnn's, but all in all I press on and love trying new things!
I'm a stay-at-home mom by day to three beautiful boys, sewing and monogramming banshee by night! It's become such a passion and love of mine to sew, to create and to share my love of beautiful and heavenly, soft fabrics with others. I've truly been pleasantly pulled into the amazing world of sewing, embroidery, applique and monogramming! Please let me share my love of custom crafting with you and your family for any occasion!
The idea for the name New Mercies came from a verse I love and have newly cherished in the Old Testament. We suffered a late miscarriage in 2010, which, in its nature, was devastating, but we knew that God was still faithful; His mercies truly were abundant and they were new each and every single day just as my nurse, the old song and the scripture promises! It took walking a little in the valley of the shadow to truly bring me to this place, and I’m so thankful for New Mercies, as it reminds me to walk with God and embrace my blessings one day at a time.
